Impromptu

Long Post... (I am on leave today.. that's why I have the time..)

Me and dar went for a very impromptu trip on 8th - 10th November.. we took leave on 8th and 9th.. but in fact we didnt plan to go anywhere in advance.. and on the night of 7th we were still deciding on whether we should nua at home or go for a short trip to Msia.. and on the morning of 8th, dar asked me to pack some clothes and that we are going to Msia!!! Hahah.. so off we went...

Dumped our bags into baby pica and drove in.. there was a slight jam over the causeway and while we were stuck in the midst of it.. we were still deciding on whether we should drive to Desaru, Kuantan, Genting or Bukit Tinggi.. hahaha.. we drove up to Skudai for brunch at Burger King and we were still discussing on our destination... in the end we decided to go Genting.. becoz we are quite unsure if we can find anywhere to stay if we are to drive towards Kuantan..

Then when we reached KL, on our way to Genting.. we decided to proceed towards Cameron Highlands.. and there we went!!.. Cool right?? Super impromptu.. never even book any accommodation to stay lei!! Unbelievable... in fact Cameron Highlands was just about 48km away from Ipoh and we were like "hmm maybe we should go Ipoh".. hahaha.. but anyway we took the old way up to Cameron Highlands which is through Tanah Rata.. the old curvy and dangerous way... only one way up and down and when going into the curve, you cant really see if there is any lorries turning towards you.. pretty dangerous...

On our way up, we passed by Lata Iskandar waterfall.. pics below..

By the time we reached Brinchang, it was already around 6pm.. went straight in search of a place to stay for the night... Saw the new extension stretch with rows of shophouses in Brichang and there was this nice brand new looking motel in view called Tudor Home Inn so we went there to try our luck.. and they have a room!!!! A triple room for only RM95 a night.. super cheap la.. so without any thought we decided to stay there for the night.. actually me and dar are quite easy when it comes to rooms..as long as got bed to sleep can liao.. hahaha.. the inn was only about 3 months old.. and the room look neat, tidy, proper and clean.. so it wasnt a bad choice..

Went out for steamboat straight after.. super hungry lei.. becoz we never ate anything after our brunch at abt 11am.. and of coz in Cameron Highlands, steamboat is always the choice for dinner... costed about RM32 for 2 paxes.. but it wasnt very yummy.. hahaha... but anyway I can make do with it..

Walked around Brinchang town for a while.. but it started raining quite heavily so we were quite wet after finishing the night bazzar.. so we went back to the motel.. they had fireworks.. probably to celebrate Deepavali I suppose.. simple but beautiful still.. never take any photos though..

Woke up super early the next day after a good night sleep.. went for breakfast at a Indian shop.. Had roti prata.. which is super filling.. becoz i think they used a lot of flour so the dough was super thick.. i can usually finish one plain and one egg.. but i only had one egg (which i cant even finish) and I am already full.. got a summon for illegal parking.. hah.. dar parked at the slot for taxis..

We then drove around Cameron Highlands a bit.. we both visited Cameron before so we are not interested in the strawberry farms, rose gardens, bee farms.. blu blu.. so we didnt stop by.. only stopped by their market place to get sweet corn for Litque and ourselves of coz after realising that their sweet corn are superb sweet!!! Then we drove to Bon Tea Plantation.. it was only one track for cars going up and down lo!!.. and there were buses too.. thanks god there are bypass areas for cars to stop and give way to the traffic on another way.. ahaha.. Bon Tea was beautiful... we didnt take much pictures becoz both our handphone cameras sucked.. and becoz this is a impromptu trip we didnt bring our camera.. wahahah.. anyway we had tea at their cafe which had a lookout area over the tea plantation..

Dar had vanilla tea and I had lychee with rose.. superb!!.. Hahaha.. always love fruity teas.. then we decided to drive up to Gunung Berinchang.. which is the highest peak in Cameron Highlands.. haha.. first thing to note baby pica is not a four wheel drive.. hahaha.. second of all baby pica is a car.. but anyway we went rally driving up the mountain and I would say baby pica really did well.. so proud of baby pica!! Baby pica really climbed up the mountain.. I guess no sedan cars will ever attempt to climb up the mountain.. seriously.. the road is narrow.. and we went into the mud by giving way to a super big landrover.. thanks god dar has good driving skills.. if not we could be stuck halfway in the middle of nowhere or we could be rolling backwards down the mountain.. it is so steep that the car will roll backwards even though we pull the handbrake.. wahaha.. but in the end we made it... and the view was marvellous...

After that, we said goodbye to Cameron Highlands and proceeded down as it was already quite late and we were thinking of making our way back to Singapore.. but on our drive back, we were thinking if we want to extend our stay in Malaysia by one more night since we have already come this far.. so I made a call to Genting to see if we can get a room.. but they were full.. so we made our way first to mid Genting for dinner.. and to check out some of the inns there.. a room will cost about RM 148 which is super ex to me... and considering that we have been to Genting so many times.. and we are not planning to gamble.. there is seriously nothing to do there but sleep... so in the end we decided to make our way home...

The next thing you know we got stuck in a massive traffic jam at KL.. by the time we cleared the jam it was already 7pm.. and I scared dar will be tired from driving so I suggested to stop by Malacca for one more night and that was what we did...we drove into Malacca and went in search of a place to sleep for the night.. in fact we were quite worried that Malacca hotels will be full too becoz it was a public holiday after all.. and we were planning that if we cannot find a room we will just drive back home.. but when we were driving towards Fenix Inn.. dar saw this new hotel by the side of the road with a banner that said only RM88 per night!!.. So we did a U-Turn to check it out.. and in the end that was where we stayed.. they are only 3 weeks old.. and they thus have plenty of rooms!!!! Yippess.. another brand new hotel with proper amenities... the hotel was cosy and warm on the inside and the room was seriously not bad too.. and plus everything is new.. damn song...

Went to Jonker street for a walk and then back to the hotel to sleep... woke up in the morning, checked out.. proceeded to Aldy hotel for breakfast as always.. and then back to SG...

Another road trip to remember by...
